Convention
- Use buffers to temporarily store information, which is then extracted when complete
- Prefer backlinks
- They show order of importance ("parent" nodes are bigger in the graph)
- More natural
- Evaluate importance of relation before linking
- Unnecessary links lead to an incomprehensible graph
